Accommodation in the Centre of Padstow
The Malt House is a self-contained cottage accessed through our private walled garden. Although just a few yards from the centre of Padstow, the hustle and bustle of the harbour is left behind the moment you step from New Street into the peaceful garden.
The Malt House is on two levels: The ground floor which has one king sized bed and en suite bathroom, and the first floor, where you’ll find the kitchen, sitting & dining area and a second king size bed and bathroom. Although the building is hundreds of years old, it is happily up to date with modern amenities; centrally heated with control via a Hive thermostat, constant hot water, WiFi, a TV in the living room and a further smaller TV in the ground floor bedroom. Please note, in this old building there are areas of restricted headroom, especially in the upstairs bedroom.
The kitchen is well equipped for a stay of a week or so: Fridge/freezer, dishwasher, hob/oven, microwave, and sufficient cupboards, well stocked with pots, pans, kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Though there are so many restaurants and cafes in town, you may find yourself boiling the kettle in the morning, opening a bottle of wine later in the day, and leaving the cooking to someone else!
Both bedrooms have fantastically comfortable king size Emma memory foam mattress and are dressed in fine ‘The White Company’ linen, with quality bath sheets and hand towels to match. The kitchen gets its own freshly laundered set of tea towels and oven gloves.
The downstairs bedroom and bathroom is completely independent from the living area above. This arrangement works well for families or for two couples to enjoy their own space.
Benefiting from the sun in the early morning until the late afternoon in the summer, the garden is a quiet, sunny spot to read or eat & drink alfresco. When the weather is not so kind, the peaceful conservatory is a great alternative, and a handy space to store any outdoor equipment.
